The R100 motor is now being stripped, after traveling 100,000km the surprising news is the condition of the internals. Take a look at the barrel and see the diagonal hone marks still well visible, there is not a single lateral line of wear anywhere to be seen.

The head on this side has just been removed and only wiped with a paper rag to reveal some of the outer face of the machined surface.

The first image above shows a simple technique i have used to unsure the piston & rod do not fall down when the barrel is removed.
